Present/Gift Baby Beanie

This baby hat is sized for newborns and can be created in under an hour. Turning your baby into a cute little gift, this delightful baby beanie is an ideal gift for a newborn baby and is very easy to create. It requires only a small amount of yarn, meaning you can use up scraps and create a beautiful present. It would also make an ideal project to make and sell, or could be made as a gift for a baby shower.

You will need
Yarn needle
4.5 MM Crochet Hook 
Double Knitting Yarn in Pink and Purple

Difficulty- Easy-intermediate
Size- 12cm x 10cm (To fit newborn)

Pattern
With Fondant chain 3,
Round 1) “3 double crochet in Fondant, double crochet using Plum,” repeat from “to” 3 times in 3rd chain from hook, slip stitch to first stitch using Fondant. (15)
Round 2) Chain 2, 2 double crochet in Fondant in 3 stitches, 2 double crochet in Plum in next stitch, repeat from “to” 3 times, slip stitch to first stitch. (30)
Round 3) Chain 2, “2 double crochet, double crochet in next stitch”, use Fondant for 6 stitches, use Plum for 2, slip stitch to first stitch. (45)
Round 4-10) Chain 2, “Fondant double crochet in 9 stitches, Plum double crochet for 3 stitches,” repeat from “to”, slip stitch to first stitch. Fasten off and weave in ends. (45)

Bow
Piece A (Make 2)
With Plum, chain 18,
Row 1) Double crochet in 3rd chain from hook, double crochet in each chain, chain 7 at end. Fasten off, leaving tail to hang from chain. Sew both sides together to form a bow shape

Piece B
With Plum, chain 2
Round 1) 6 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook. Fasten off and sew onto middle of bow. Sew bow onto top of hat. Weave in ends.
