Crochet Emoji Doll Lovey by Cherry and Crochet Designs

This funky lovey/comforter is quick, easy and rewarding to make. The pattern is easy to follow as I don’t use any abbreviations, only the full terms. It is also designed with babies in mind, so it is securely attached and doesn’t have any loose parts, such as buttons. It would make a perfect gift that is a little different and out there. You definitely can’t buy a handmade crochet emoji doll lovey from the shops, so make something special for your child. Loveys/comforters are used as a soothing, comforting toy that they can use to comfort themselves. This makes them perfect for babies who are crying throughout the night. Free Crochet Pattern- Simple Socks | Cherry and Crochet Designs

I partake in affiliate programs and therefore I may make a small commission if you purchase through links, at no extra cost to you.
Simple Socks Crochet Pattern

I made these socks when my favorite, pure wool socks became holey and I was frustrated at how poor quality even the nicest socks are. I came to the conclusion the only way I was going to be able to guarantee the quality was by purchasing handmade ones or making them myself. I found some pretty cotton yarn I hadn't used in years and began my socks. They are made for a size 3-5 ladies and designed to be socks that can be worn with most shoes, or just inside. Each sock takes around an hour and a half to make as the stitches are deliberately very small to make them last longer. If you would like to make them in a bigger size, you could use a larger crochet hook. If you would like them to be longer at the ankle, you could do more rounds after round 76. They would make a gorgeous gift, (I'm making 6 pairs for Christmas gifts), or great for yourself. They could also be made to sell.

You will need
Yarn needle
2.5mm crochet hook
Approximately 100g/ 3.6oz 4ply yarn in fibre and colour of your choice (this yarn is the one used in the socks pictured)

Difficulty- Easy

These would look gorgeous in ethically produced, hand-dyed yarn, check out Darn Good Yarn's Factory Outlet, they have stunning eco-friendly yarns and craft supplies at ridiculously low prices. New Subscribers get 15% OFF - Shop Now - DarnGoodYarn.com

Row 66 ) Chain 1, *single crochet in 1 stitch, single crochet 2 together in next 2 stitches, repeat from *
Row 67 ) Chain 1, single crochet 2 together in every 2 stitches
Row 68-70) Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch

Turn the sock inside out and slip stitch the sides of the heel piece together and then slip stitch along this seam again.

Round 71) Chain 1, single crochet in the side of each stitch of the flat section, (work one single crochet in the side of each stitch), single crochet in each of the remaining stitches of round 43 and single crochet in the other side of the heel, slip stitch to first stitch.
Round 72) Chain 1,*single crochet in next 3 stitches, single crochet 2 together in next 2 stitches, repeat from *, single crochet in remaining stitches. Slip stitch to first stitch.
Round 73-76) Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch, slip stitch to first stitch.  Fasten off and weave in ends.

If you need to size them up, (they're made for a UK ladies size 3-5), try using a slightly larger hook size, eg a 3mm, or crocheting more rounds between 5-36 until it seems the right size, ideally try it on as you make them.
